Dr. Erica Zelfand

If the straight-and-narrow approach to care was going to work, it would have by now. I’m here to help look at things from a new perspective and connect the dots. I sometimes joke that I’m not a doctor, but actually a detective, looking for clues to solve the puzzle of what’s really going on.

I’m an empath and the most extroverted introvert I know. I genuinely care about every client I serve, and I will root for you every step of the way. I love my job.

My straight-shooting style is balanced by a lighthearted sense of humor, so you may catch yourself having some fun as we get down the business of helping you claim your best life.

Background & Training:

After graduating from medical school with high honors and completing a family practice residency, I opened a primary care medical practice in Oregon. It wasn’t long before I realized how many people were struggling with their mental health. I suspected that the tools in my toolkit weren’t enough.

Despite knowing that it would place a huge bullseye on my back, I nevertheless spoke up about what I was learning about psychedelics. Thankfully, the medical community didn’t ostracize me – they asked me to speak even louder. So I did!

Over the past decade, I’ve worked with the Zendo Project, trained in MDMA-assisted therapy with MAPS, become a ketamine prescriber, and literally traveled the world learning about psychedelic medicines, hands-on. I teach internationally and advocate for the normalization and legalization of entheogens. In fact, I’m so committed to the cause of making medicines like psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine accessible to others that I founded the nonprofit Right to Heal. As for my philosophy, I think the name “Right to Heal” says it all.
